Easter is usually a good time to rest and relax before the final examinations. Jason asked Mr. West what people do in New Zealand for the Easter holidays, and it"s quite similar to Hong Kong--there"s a holiday and people eat chocolate eggs.
The human body performs thousands of functions every single day, from replacing your taste buds without you even knowing it, to changing to mimic the music you’re listening to. But there are a bunch of other strange, weird, fascinating, beautiful, and downright gross things about the human body that you probably never knew.
Jade and Karen welcomed everybody back to school after the holiday and spoke about the meaning of the holiday to them. For modern society it seems that the origins of giving lai see has been forgotten. Just as in Western countries where Christmas has just become about giving gifts and Easter is about chocolate, Chinese New Year traditions have become about consumerism.
Daisy and Jason from 4B spoke about their volunteer work with the elderly. They found the work to be very meaningful and encouraged all students to help needy people whenever they can.
Happy new year everyone!
